This year’s conference takes place in Dublin from 2nd to 3rd November 2017 and is proudly hosted by Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO) and Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi).
The partnership between the CSO and OSi is long established and was recently underpinned by a commitment to collaborate in relation to the visualisation of statistical outputs, publishing certain geographies as Linked Open Data and fulfilling Ireland’s reporting responsibilities under the United Nations 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development.
The conference will feature a rich programme focusing on the latest knowledge and innovation in geography and statistics. It brings together experts from both fields and provides an opportunity for sharing best practice in relation to areas such as UN-GGIM, Sustainable Development Goals, Open and Linked data as well as highlighting current work activities which combine official statistics with geospatial information.
It is our intention that this conference will showcase the benefits of pooling together the knowledge of the statistical and mapping communities and provide meaningful examples of how collaboration can facilitate the development of valuable decision making tools.
This website has been designed to provide you with all the conference information you need including agenda, venue, registration process, accommodation, guidelines and deadlines for abstracts and paper submission. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
We have no doubt that taking part in EFGS 2017 will be an enjoyable opportunity for learning and networking and hope you will join us in Dublin – a city steeped in culture and heritage.
We look forward to meeting you there.
